John and Shaleigh both grew up in El Paso, TX, attending the same middle and high school but running in different circles. They knew of each other but never truly connected.

After graduation, they went their separate ways, off to college and new experiences. Years passed, filled with growth, adventure, and lessons in love and life. But something brought them both back home in their late twenties, unknowingly setting the stage for their real love story.

Shaleigh and John's sister Kathryn became good friends once Shaleigh moved back to El Paso. Upon John's return they would find themselves all spending time together regularly.
